Voters back Liberal Democrat record at St Albans District Council

At the Local Election count on 3 May, hard-working local Liberal Democrats secured 17 places on St Albans District Council. Claiming seats across all corners of the district, Liberal Democrat councillors now account for 47 of 56 seats on St Albans City and District Council.

Chris White, retiring leader of the St Albans City and District Council, said, “We are humbled by today’s win. Liberal Democrats have a track record of delivering here in St Albans. From our award-winning charter market to safeguarding our environment, to protecting vital services in the face of cuts from central government, Liberal Democrats are putting St Albans first.

“Our Liberal Democrat candidates, campaigners and councillors continue to work tirelessly to keep St Albans moving forward. We are incredibly proud of our team here in St Albans District and are over the moon with today’s success.”

Daisy Cooper, MP for St Albans, said, “I’m so pleased to see this resounding vote of confidence in the local Liberal Democrat’s forward-looking vision for our area. Together we have shown the difference that hard-working Liberal Democrats can make.
