A St Albans resident since the mid-seventies, Jez Levy attended Killigrew and Verulam schools. Having travelled the UK with work, Jez finally settled back in the district in 2001 with his wife and children. Jez runs a successful and popular optical practice at the Quadrant, Marshalswick now embarking on his own frame designing.

Dedicating much of his spare time to promoting and fundraising for small local good causes and charities, Jez is a trustee of both The Pioneer & St Albans Action for Homeless and also has a particular interest in youth mental health and assisting in fund raising for many local good causes, 'Local' is Jez's passion.

Jez is often spotted riding around St Albans on a peculiar looking yellow and black trike..!

Helen Campbell (District and County Councillor)

District and county councillor Helen Campbell was first elected as a district councillor in 2018 (representing the then Marshalwsick South ward, which later became Bernards Heath) followed by election to St Albans North at the county council in 2021.

She has served as the deputy executive member for highways for Hertfordshire since May 2025 and has also served as the deputy leader of the district council since 2022.

Helen has a strong interest in reducing congestion and traffic speeds and protecting the environment and green spaces. She has been working her way around the pavements of St Albans North focusing her highways locality budget on replacements where most needed and requested by her residents.

Helen has lived in St Albans with her family since 2002 and had a long career in business journalism until the call of politics grew louder in 2016. She co-led the successful and active St Albans for Europe group for several years following the Brexit referendum.

Chris Brattle (District Councillor)

Chris Brattle grew up in Hertfordshire but came to St Albans in 2007 for work, very much liked what he saw and has lived here ever since. He is a regular in Bernards Heath whether taking his 2 children skating at Pioneer or walking over to Little Star for a hot drink and some Cannoli (particularly the lemon ones). Chris has spent the last 15 years working in the world of international commerce, specialising in import, export and distribution. This has involved regular dealings with businesses of all sizes, giving him a strong awareness of the challenges facing independent retailers and the vital contribution they make to communities.

As a keen cyclist and parent he is keen to ensure safe routes for active travel, especially to and from schools and to carefully ensure that any development is carefully balanced with the needs of both the community and the natural environment. He also enjoys playing Bass (badly) and retains a keen interest in history.
