About Baroness Humphreys
Baroness Humphreys of Llanrwst is the Deputy Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats and the Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrat Group in the House of Lords. Christine was previously President of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, and, prior to that, a Member of the Welsh Assembly for North Wales Region from 1999 – 2001 where she was the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Wales on Economics, Transport and the Environment. Christine was also a Liberal Democrat councillor on Colwyn Bay Borough Council.
Previously, she was an English teacher and was Head of Vocation in a Welsh Medium School. She was appointed to the House of Lords in September 2013.
The responsibilities of the Party Deputy Leader and Leader of the UK Parliamentary Group are to:
- Deputise for the Party Leader;
- Represent the UK Parliamentary Group within the Party; and
- Be responsible for co-ordinating the work of the UK Parliamentary Group with the work of the Party and other parliamentary groups.
