About David Charwick MP
David Chadwick is the Welsh Liberal Democrat MP for Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe, having been first elected to serve in the role in the 2024 General Election. David also currently serves as the Liberal Democrat Frontbench Spokesperson for Wales in Parliament.
David lives in Brecon with his partner Gemma and young son William.
Prior to being elected, David worked as a consultant in Cybersecurity.
David became interested in politics when his grandfather took him to see the steelworks in Port Talbot to see what it was like to work in a blast furnace stating it gave him an early insight into how politics, industry and communities are intrinsically linked.
The responsibilities of the Party Deputy Leader and Leader of the UK Parliamentary Group are to:
- Deputise for the Party Leader;
- Represent the UK Parliamentary Group within the Party; and
- Be responsible for co-ordinating the work of the UK Parliamentary Group with the work of the Party and other parliamentary groups.
