Job Description

Purpose: To assist with administrative tasks related to party management and campaigns.

Responsible to: Chief Executive

Salary: £25,000 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: 35 hours per week, (37.5 hours)

Duration: Temporary until 30th November 2025

Location: Home-working with option to work in a Party Office at locations across Wales; some travel to/within Wales will be required.

Closing date: 09:00 on Monday 1st September

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. To provide administrative support to the Welsh Party.
  2. To assist with the organisation of the Party’s Autumn Conference in October 2025

 

Specific Activities

  • To undertake general administrative tasks such as booking meetings, arranging venues, and circulating meeting invites.
  • To administer confidential HR processes such as payroll and expenses processing.
  • To produce reports on key performance indicators as requested by the Campaign Manager (Wales).
  • To update and maintain the Party’s website pages, working with the Operations Officer.
  • To assist with the conduct of internal party elections, including liaising with candidates, checking nominations, uploading manifestos etc.
  • To assist with the organisation of Party Conference including venue liaison, production of branding materials, briefing and managing stewards, meeting and greeting VIPS, producing reports and other tasks as required by the Chief Executive of Operations Officer.
  • To be the first point of contact for Conference delegates, answering their queries in a polite and professional manner.
  • Any other duties as required.

 

Person Specification

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills; confident at multi-tasking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working in an office environment would be advantageous.
  • Confident with using basic office IT software; experience of updating websites and/or graphic design an advantage.
  • Team player with good people skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Able to work some evenings or weekends when required.
  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of the Welsh Liberal Democrats.
