Scottish Liberal Democrats have revealed shocking figures that 16,000 CalMac ferry journeys have been cancelled for technical faults in the last three years.
Responding to the news that the farm tax inheritance threshold will increase from £1 million to £2.5 million, Alan Reid said, “I welcome the news that the Labour Government have made this change following the Lib Dem campaign against this unfair tax.”
More islands including Islay, Jura, Mull, Iona, Gometra, Ulva, Tiree and Coll will now benefit from the Scottish Government’s Islands Business Resilience Fund following a campaign by the Liberal Democrats.
Liberal Democrats criticised the Chancellor’s decision to introduce a new 3p-a-mile charge for electric cars from 2028 and warned that rural parts of Scotland could be the worst hit. This charge is estimated to cost drivers around £250 a year on average.

New figures show that only 65% of people attending A&E were seen within the 4 hour target in the week ending 16th November 2025, while 3,454 people waited over 8 hours and 1,592 waited over 12 hours.
