16,000 ferry journeys cancelled for technical faults since 2023

Having delayed building new ferries for years, the fiasco over the project to replace ageing ships has become a national scandal.
Alan Reid says, “If I’m elected to Holyrood in May, I will take the fight to the Scottish Parliament to fix island lifeline services. I’ll also campaign for replacement ferries for the Dunoon to Gourock route, which is the route with most technical breakdowns with over 6,000 cancellations.”
