Liberal Democrats back Graham Colley to stand for Kent Police & Crime Commissioner election 

Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce that Graham Colley has been selected as their candidate at the next Police and Crime Commissioner election, due to take place in May 2021. Graham has been a vocal supporter of Kent Police and will campaign for more frontline officers, community policing and improved visibility of police, especially in rural areas of the county.

Liberal Democrats protect land from development, as Medway Council agrees to 'Village Green' status

Medway Council have now confirmed that the Coney Banks, Daisy Banks, Barnfield and Bishops Hoath Wood have been given village green status which the area is protected from development for posterity. This is the result of a successful 9-year campaign on the part of local Liberal Democrat, Viv Parker, which started when the Daisy Banks were threatened with being sold and built on.

Liberal Democrats reignite electric bus debate for Medway Towns

In replying to Medway Liberal Democrats' question to council "When are we going to get electric buses?" Councillor Filmer stated that "bus operators did not currently have any plans to introduce electric buses in Medway. However, the council was planning to bid for a £50million government grant to develop an all-electric bus city and was working with the local bus providers to submit an 'Expression of Interest', the first stage of the bidding process".
