Gŵyr Abertawe (Gower & Swansea) is the new Senedd constituency covering the Westminster constituencies of Swansea West and the Gower
1) Sam Bennett
Cllr Sam Bennett has represented the Waterfront ward on Swansea Council since 2022, where he was elected with over 60% of the vote.
With a background in marketing at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Swansea University, Sam is passionate about education and widening participation. He has also been active in the campaign for justice over the cladding scandal affecting flats and high-rise blocks.
2) Helen Ceri Clarke
Helen is an experienced councillor and works in kidney patient advocacy.
3) Mike O'Carroll
Mike O’Carroll is a local resident and campaigner who currently lives in Sandfields, having previously lived in Uplands. He is a former business owner and former Army reservist, who is currently studying for a PhD at Swansea University.
Mike’s political priorities are tackling the social care crisis to fix our NHS and encouraging investment in green energy to bring down the cost of living. He is a long-term supporter of the Swansea Bay tidal lagoon and believes that both the UK and Welsh governments have not been ambitious enough when it comes to investing in the jobs and technology of the future.
4) Chris Holley
Chris is a former leader of Swansea Council who restored the LC.
5) Mary Jones
Mary has served with distinction as a councillor for the Killay area for over 20 years.
6) Howard Evans
Howard has recently retired as an Assistant Headteacher at Penyrheol Comprehensive School and is a supporter of numerous local voluntary organisations.
