Trade Union Clean Air Network (TUCAN) was launched on Wednesday 6 February 2019
Air Pollution - all in a day's work? On Wednesday 6 February 2019, the Trade Union Clean Air Network (TUCAN)¹ was launched. The event took place at the Head Office of the International Transport Workers (ITF) in London. It was attended by a wide range of trades unions and supporting organisations including Client Earth, British Lung Foundation and the London Sustainability Exchange. The meeting discussed the Trade Union Clean Air Network Charter that has been drawn up to promote a trade union voice on this public health emergency.

Left, Right or Small? We should open up markets to small operators, and we need good quality, independent regulation.
Left, Right or Small? I have seen a number of opinion pieces in various forums recently arguing that capitalism is the root of all our environmental ills, and that we urgently need to adopt left wing policies (state socialism and/or third way approaches) to solve the threat of global warming. Saving the world clearly requires us to adopt the most effective policies possible. So, the question is: whether large-scale corporate capitalism needs to be replaced by state socialism to stop global warming?

TUCAN - launch of the Trade Union Clean Air Network on Wednesday 6th February
If you are a Green Liberal Democrat and a Trade Unionist you may wish to accept the invitation below to attend the launch of TUCAN - the Trade Union Clean Air Network - on Wednesday 6th February at 2.00pm. Air Pollution has been described as a Public Health Emergency that affects every sity and most, if not every, workplace. It is not only a Trade Union issue it is an issue for everyone. We should not forget that Air Pollution is associated with 40,000 premature deaths each year in the UK.
