Solar power on all commercial property and car parks

Solar power on all commercial property and car parks must be the revenue generation model for every Council and County Council. Powers to break the deadlock between landlords and commercial tenants should be taken. Some LibDem run councils adopting this revenue generating model are coping with real term government cuts in budget and not increasing Council tax by as much as those dipping into reserves to stand still. That's dismantling public services and selling off the family silver. Many LibDem administrations also negotiate for 2050 Ready homes with solar, better insulation, heat pumps and heat recovery ventilation, going a well beyond Tory woeful building regulations, giving additional revenue on the passive homes sold to open market and using some of the extra revenue to fund the same standards for 40% affordable homes. It's worth remembering Ed Davey had already adopted solar as energy Minister and planned more of the grants he set up. All cancelled by the Tories in 2016 on. We should laugh off this

Changing the narrative on Nuclear Weapons

Since the UN Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) came into force in 2021, it is a matter of fact that Nuclear Weapons are now prohibited and illegal under International Law. Liberal Democrats, as law-abiding internationalists must recognise that fact and behave and act accordingly. We have an opportunity to change the narrative on these weapons of mass-destruction.
