Liberal Democrats respond to report that Chatham Docks closure would be catastrophic for Medway

Local Liberal Democrats are alarmed by the findings of a report produced by the University of Kent, that states that 'Chatham Docks is the largest single source of private sector revenue in Chatham' and that 'the loss of the port would cost £258 million to the local economy and result in 2,000 job losses both directly employed and in the supply chain.'

Liberal Democrats back Graham Colley to stand for Kent Police & Crime Commissioner election 

Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce that Graham Colley has been selected as their candidate at the next Police and Crime Commissioner election, due to take place in May 2021. Graham has been a vocal supporter of Kent Police and will campaign for more frontline officers, community policing and improved visibility of police, especially in rural areas of the county.

Liberal Democrats protect land from development, as Medway Council agrees to 'Village Green' status

Medway Council have now confirmed that the Coney Banks, Daisy Banks, Barnfield and Bishops Hoath Wood have been given village green status which the area is protected from development for posterity. This is the result of a successful 9-year campaign on the part of local Liberal Democrat, Viv Parker, which started when the Daisy Banks were threatened with being sold and built on.
