"Holocaust Memorial Day will give an opportunity for our towns to reflect" say Medway Liberal Democrats

Wednesday 27 January 2021 marks the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp, every year on that day Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place, a day that will give an opportunity for people from our towns and across the country to reflect on the tragic events of the Holocaust and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

 'Medway Liberal Democrats respond to Rainham Library Building being under Threat'

Medway council are in the process of reviewing whether to move Rainham Library to new a location within Rainham, with the idea to merge it with other council facilities to form a Community Hub. These have been proven in other parts of Medway to be a good use of building facilities to save costs and potentially increase the number of people using our libraries. Medway Liberal Democrats believe they are a good idea and continue to support their use throughout Medway.

Kent and Medway Tier 3 statement from Medway Liberal Democrats

The government has announced today that Kent and Medway will be placed in Tier 3 from December 2nd, this is the highest tier. Medway has been placed in this category due to the high number cases seen in Medway over the last few weeks. North Kent, including Medway, Swale and Thanet are recording some the highest numbers of cases in the country.
