Friday 27th January 2023 marks the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp, every year on that day Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place, a day that will give an opportunity for people from our towns and across the country to reflect on the tragic events of the Holocaust and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
New figures released on the 12/01/23 have revealed the extent of the NHS crisis in Medway. In Medway NHS Foundation Trust 1,217 people waited over 4 hours to be seen in December. Even more alarmingly, 560 waited over 12 hours to be seen in December during the winter crisis.
Local Lib Dems campaigner, Alan Wells is concerned that the location at the back of Sun Pier House and B & M's car park and to the entrance to Sun Pier itself, has become dangerous and poses a risk of injury to walkers.
