Saving Our Open Spaces
In 2023, the Labour-run Ealing Council proposed to take away Metropolitan Open Land (MOL) status from numerous green spaces in Ealing through its Local Plan. This put the MOLs at risk of having tall towers and other inappropriate development built on them.
The Ealing Liberal Democrats helped protect these vital public amenities by launching a petition that gained over 1,100+ signatures from local residents. As a result, the final local plan adopted by the Ealing Council protects almost all of the MOLs included in our petition.
