Save the Adult Centres

Ealing Council have launched a consultation over the future of the Michael Flanders Resource Centre in Acton, the Cowgate Adult Day Centre in Greenford and the Solace Centre in Ealing.

There is speculation and fear that one or all of them will be closed so the Council can save money and sell the land to developers.

The consultation has not been widely shared and members of the Council's Health and Adult Social Services Scrutiny Panel did not know about the consultation.

The Ealing Liberal Democrats have set up a petition to stop the Council from closing these vital day centres.

Councillor Andrew Steed, Liberal Democrat Opposition spokesperson for Adults' Services said: 'Liberal Democrats know that Ealing’s Labour-run Council have form in this area when they closed the Ealing Careline Service. Please sign the petition so we can show Ealing Council that they should not be closing these vital centres which provide great help to many vulnerable users and their families such as dementia sufferers and those with learning disabilities or mental health conditions.'
