Garnet Street Box Junction

Local residents have told us that speeding is a major issue, specifically on both Garnet Street and Wapping Lane which suffer from speeding cars, creating major safety issues for local residents. At the same time, people have told us there can sometimes be significant congestion leaving Wapping, especially during the morning rush hour, when exiting via the junctions at The Highway and Garnet Street or Wapping Lane. Just along The Highway, at the intersection with Vaughan Way, TfL has installed a yellow box junction, to ensure traffic leaving Wapping and turning right can still exit even when traffic heading towards the City is nose-to-tail. Doing similar at these intersections would help to speed up journeys for local residents and ensure people can make it to work, school or appointments on-time. We the undersigned call on TfL to invest in speed cameras on Garnet Street and Wapping Lane and for the implementation of yellow box junctions at the junctions with The Highway
