FAQs

  • You can express an interest in signing up for Fleet here: https://tech.libdems.org.uk/signup

Once you've expressed an interest, we expect folk to be able to start signing up from early July. We'll be prioritising who can move across, with people in target seats and current Nationbuilder users being at the top of the list - so you might have to wait a little longer before you get your site, but everyone who has done the preparatory work should be migrated by December at the latest.

  • Yes, there's a few things that you can do now - and you can find out what those things are here: https://tech.libdems.org.uk/news/article/get-ready-to-migrate

  • You can find out information on pricing here: https://tech.libdems.org.uk/news/article/pricing

  • We'll be providing a custom-built tool for web-forms and donation pages, that'll be free as part of Fleet

Your emails will be provided via Connect, using a tool called Targeted Email. You can find out more about that here: https://tech.libdems.org.uk/targeted-email.

We're testing a tool for event registration at the moment, called Eventcube, which you can find out more about here.

Lastly, you'll still have access to Typeform for more complicated surveys.

  • If you're happy with the tools that you're using at the moment, you don't have to switch. It's your choice what you want to do and what you want to use and we aren't planning on removing any other tools from the party's list of approved suppliers. If you chose not to switch you won't be able to benefit from some elements of what we're doing, especially around data integration and you might find that some of your costs are higher when dealing with direct suppliers.

  • We choose Typo3 for three reasons, speed, scalability and security. Typo3 is designed to support a federation of sites, which significantly improves how easy it is to manage and maintain a network of sites. It also means that it doesn't slow down at the back or front end no matter how many sites you add. Typo3 also comes with improved security features as a core part of it's platform, not a later addition and the fact that it's less common means it's less frequently attacked.

  • Yes! We're planning to set up a process to handle this that's very similar to what you have now. It'll also be updated to meet modern web best practices. There'll also be tools to help share images, web forms and other useful components.

  • Unfortunately not. Email forwarding has been difficult to maintain for a long time and this is something that Prater Raines are having to discontinue. You'll be able to set up aliases on mailboxes, so you can have multiple email addresses routing back to a single inbox, but you can't then send it on to your own email automatically.

  • With Fleet you have total control of how you organise your website, but you're restricted on what content blocks you can use. Fleet has a number of content blocks that can be combined in any order to create beautiful, tailored on-brand websites.
