Let's get CCTV cameras installed in King George's Park so that it's safe for everyone
Local Lib Dems are calling on Wandsworth Council to reduce CCTV blackout spots and light up our streets and parks so that Southfields is safe for everyone.
Violent incidents in King George’s Park are deeply concerning and have rightly worried many residents. They highlight what many of us have been experiencing for some time - a sense that antisocial behaviour in the park and surrounding streets is getting out of hand. No one should have to think twice about walking through one of our local parks, especially at nighttime.
Southfields has a considerable lack of CCTV provision when compared with the rest of Wandsworth and there is not a single camera in King George’s Park. This means we don’t benefit from this valuable tool for deterring criminal activity and enforcing the law when incidents occur.
Our petition calls for:
- Strategic placement of CCTV cameras at key points throughout King George’s Park
- Improved lighting to eliminate dark spots where antisocial behaviour can flourish
- Transparent reporting to residents on how these measures are working
Let’s get a CCTV camera installed in King George's Park.
To better ensure crime prevention and the safety of local residents, local Lib Dems are calling on Wandsworth Borough Council to install a CCTV camera in King George's Park.
