Rachael Roberts
Rachael Roberts - Bangor Aberconwy

The Welsh Liberal Democrats have announced Rachael Roberts as their candidate for Bangor Aberconwy at the next General Election.

Rachael Roberts is pleased to contest the Bangor Aberconwy constituency for the Welsh Liberal Democrats at the next election. A proud daughter of North Wales, Rachael is committed to creating a Fairer, Greener, and more Caring society across the region she calls home.

A fierce advocate for justice and equality, Rachael earned a scholarship to study human rights and has since travelled the world supporting marginalized groups. Her passion for empowering women, asylum seekers, disabled people, and other underserved communities led her to become the Diversity Officer for Bangor Aberconwy Lib Dems.

Active in her community since a teenager, Rachael has frequently organised local charity events, once walking solo from North Wales to London to raise money for a cause. Rachael hopes to bring this same spirit to Westminster, fighting for libraries, mental health services, and accessible medical care for Bangor Aberconwy.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of North Wales, Rachael is also committed to standing for our environment, championing policies that protect our shared planet while creating new jobs in clean energy. Rachael believes that renewable power can make Britain self-sufficient, lower costs, and ease the burden of rising prices on working families.

When not working tirelessly for her community, you can find Rachael exploring nature with her dog Goldie or as an educator teaching about marine conservation.

Commenting on her selection Rachael Roberts stated:

"I believe that how we accomplish things matters just as much as what we accomplish. Community-driven initiatives should be at the heart of building the infrastructure our communities need. That's why I will focus on supporting grassroots efforts led by the people of North Wales. As the Member of Parliament for Bangor Aberconwy, I will make it my mission to empower constituents by giving them a platform to voice their hopes and concerns."

She added: "We are still in the depths of an acute cost-of-living crisis, with household bills far higher than working families can afford. Too many in our communities cannot even turn the heating on all winter long. It's not fair. People deserve far better.

I believe solutions lie in tackling the climate crisis alongside the economic crisis. Using my experience and passion for debate, I will fight for major investment in homegrown renewable power if elected as MP. Wales can and must lead the way on this transition."
