Message to members announcing the Selection

Dear fellow member,

The process of selecting our candidates for next year’s Senedd elections is now underway - and this is your chance to have your say.

Although the final constituency boundaries are not yet final, this process is choosing a candidate for Cardiff East, plus the other Westminster constituency it will be paired with to create a new Senedd constituency (either Cardiff North or Cardiff South and Penarth). As a member in one of these three constituencies, you will soon have the chance to choose your candidate.

We are delighted to present two candidates to you as part of this process. Your vote will help decide the order in which they appear on the party’s candidate list in the 2026 Senedd elections.

Candidates

The candidates are (in alphabetical order):

The first manifestos for each candidate can be downloaded by clicking on their names above. From today, the candidates may also choose to contact you directly by phone or by post, and you may also receive up to 2 emails from them sent on their behalf by the party.

Hustings – Friday 14th March 2025, 7pm

At 7pm on Friday 14th March, you will have a chance to hear directly from the candidates and ask them questions. This hustings event will take place at Roath Church House, Waterloo Road, CF23 5AD.

If you would like to submit any questions in advance, you can do so directly to me at joeboyle@wordandtext.co.uk Any questions must be asked equally of both candidates.

Please do come along to hear from the candidates, and meet other local members from across Cardiff.

Voting

Voting in this selection process is via the Single Transferrable Vote system, where you are able to rank the candidates in order of preference. Voting will open on 15 March and remain open for three weeks, until 12 noon on Friday 4th April.
