Dear member,

You will probably be aware that we recently commenced the process for selecting Senedd candidates for the newly formed constituency of De Powys Tawe Nedd which is made up of the two Westminster constituencies of Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe and the Neath and Swansea East seat.

The Senedd election will be a party list selection for the first time and will be run under D'Hondt system similar to the old Senedd Regional list system with up to 6 candidates on each list for each party and 6 MS selected. We are delighted to now be able to present five excellent candidates for you, the members of the constituency, to decide the order of candidates on the Welsh Liberal Democrat list for the new constituency at the Senedd elections in 2026 and our selection voting will be by single Transferable voting.

Under the new selection rules if the Leader of the Welsh Party seeks selection in a constituency, the Returning Officer will place them first on the List. Jane Dodds has applied for selection for De Powys Tawe Nedd and therefore will be the No1 candidate on the List and will not appear on your ballots. The other four candidates are therefore applying to be placed 2nd-5th behind Jane on the Final List and it is this order you will be voting upon.
