Parliament Must Have a Vote on Any Iran Action Inbox

Responding to the latest developments in the Middle East, Welsh Liberal Democrat Westminster Spokesperson David Chadwick MP said:
“The UK must not be dragged into another American war in the Middle East and any proposed military action against the Iranian regime must be put to a vote in Parliament.
“It would be utterly wrong to put the lives of our brave British service members on the line by blindly following the United States into this conflict. Only robust diplomacy can put a sustainable lock on Iran's nuclear ambitions.
“The Liberal Democrats led the opposition to the Iraq War in 2003, and we remain firmly opposed to the UK becoming entangled in another adventurist conflict in the region.
"Our focus must be on diplomacy, targeted sanctions against the Iranian regime, and de-escalation. This is the only way to successfully contain Iran over the long term."
