Lib Dems Welcome Extension to Whole Farm Nitrogen Limit

The Welsh Liberal Democrats have welcomed an announcement by Minister for Rural Affairs Lesley Griffiths, that the whole farm nitrate limit has been extended until the 31st October 2023.

Commenting Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader and Mid & West Wales Senedd Member Jane Dodds said:

“The Welsh Liberal Democrats had long been calling for a delay in these measures to allow our farmers to prepare if they were to go ahead as planned by the Welsh Government, we therefore welcome today’s announcement by the Minister for Rural Affairs.

“The extra time announced today will allow the Welsh Government more time to thoroughly consider the responses they have gotten from our farmers and for farmers to prepare for the final outcome, whatever that final outcome may be.”
