Labour’s failure on social care is fuelling NHS waiting lists, says Dodds
Responding to the release of the latest NHS Wales data, Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader Jane Dodds MS said:
“After 26 years of Labour running the Welsh NHS, patients are still facing record waiting lists and a lack of basic transparency, with crucial data missing from north Wales. Ministers can talk about extra funding, but people waiting months or years for treatment will see this as yet more evidence of a system Labour has failed to fix.
“A major reason waiting times remain so high is Labour’s failure to properly invest in social care. Without enough care in the community, hospital beds stay blocked and staff are stretched even further. Until the Welsh Government gets serious about fixing social care, the NHS will continue to struggle and patients will pay the price.”
