1) Steve Aicheler
Steve Aicheler is the Liberal Democrat lead candidate on the regional list for the Senedd elections. A local resident of Machen, he lives in Caerphilly with his family and has deep roots in the constituency.
Steve is a small business owner turned education and enterprise specialist. He spent 15 years running his own businesses in Caerphilly before moving into higher education, where he has spent the past decade supporting entrepreneurship, skills development and economic growth. He now works nationally for a non-profit organisation that supports universities, businesses and charities across the UK.
A community councillor for Machen, Steve has stood in local, Senedd and Westminster elections, building support for the Liberal Democrats from the ground up. He is standing on a platform focused on improving healthcare access, strengthening education, and supporting small businesses and local economies. Steve believes Wales needs practical, people-centred politics and a stronger liberal voice in the Senedd.
2) David Scullin
3) Catherine Dowden-King
4) Steve Lloyd
Steve and his wife, Mary, moved home to South East Wales Valleys 25 years ago, following a career in the RAF, and some 10 years training engineering apprentices. He is still involved in Further Education.
A lifelong Liberal, Steve is very concerned about the state of Health and Social Care in Wales and believes the Welsh Liberal Democrats have the right leadership and policies to solve this particular issue. Other items on Steve’s list of concerns are the cost of living in Wales, particularly the crippling business rates and the cost of employing staff.
Steve is a strong supporter of apprenticeships for young people, as opposed to university study for the increasing number of worthless degrees currently being offered. Steve serves as Secretary of his local Welsh Liberal Democrat party and has previously stood for election as a County Councillor in Caerphilly.
5) Ivan Westley
6) Juliet Price
