The passengers on the bus say 'no, no, no' - Thurso

25 Mar 2004

Responding to a report commissioned by the Passenger Transport Executive Group into bus services outside London, John Thurso MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary, said:

"It is crude and arrogant for the Government to expect more people to travel by public transport when the quality of service on our buses is showing no signs of improvement.

"Alistair Darling needs to start putting the satisfaction of customers at the top of his public transport targets and he'll soon realise that one will follow the other.

"We will only get people out of cars when Britain has a safe, reliable and affordable public transport system."
