Our 2022 Accredited Candidates Scheme
It's been a great week to be a Liberal Democrat. Green Liberal Democrat Accredited Candidate Helen Morgan defied the odds. Meanwhile, a hard-fought victory for Suzanne Fairless-Aitken in Hexham East took Northumberland County Council out of Conservative control.
Since May 2021, we have gained the most seats in local byelections of any UK party. We accumulated more votes than any other party. We have won two headline Parliamentary seats through incredible vote swings. We're a strong campaign force again. But we cannot rest.
We must look forward to what is next. We are eager to continue working with Helen Morgan MP and her team, holding this administration to account in Parliament for their inaction on climate change and biodiversity loss.
But the May 2022 Local Elections remain our priority. We must carry this momentum to deliver Greener, Cleaner, Healthier Communities.
That's why we're launching our 2022 Accredited Candidates Scheme.
Accredited Candidates are provided:
- Green Liberal Democrat leaflet and survey templates.
- Messaging and policy guidance.
- Our Green Advice Service, offering bespoke campaign and research support.
To apply, we ask you to describe three prospective policies for your community: Greener, Cleaner, and Healthier.
These can range in scale and detail. From as simple as promoting cycling through social media campaigns to complex infrastructure projects such as district heating.
Our team and network of researchers, councillors, partner organisations, and experienced campaigners will work with you to develop these further and harness the potential of your platform.
So, what's holding you back?
