Green Homes Initiative (on 07 March 2015.)
The Liberal Democrats have relentlessly pushed the green agenda over the last five years in government, in the face of strong resistance from the Conservatives. Yet despite much needed progress, people still suffer from homes that are too cold and bills that are too high. We will guarantee that nature and the environment will not be ignored in the forthcoming elections. The Lib Dems are putting green issues on the front page of our manifesto.
Energy efficiency and climate change are vital issues that we must tackle. Insulating millions of homes will significantly improve the cost of living and quality of life of people across the UK. -
Liberal Democrats want to see a Green Homes revolution over the next 10 years.
http://www.janebrophy.co.uk/index.php/news/144-lib-dems-green-homes-initiative - Jane Brophy, a councillor in Trafford, Greater Manchester, who has been a Lib Dem since the beginning in 1988, said the atmosphere was more relaxed than when the party was in government. "I think the Liberal Democrats are confident at the moment - confident about where they stand in politics and that they have a role and a future," she said.

The positive role of the Lib Dems (on 18 May 2011.)
A Tory programme for government would have looked extremely different. I believe the Lib Dem's progressive agenda will be viewed positively by the public over time. The Lib Dems, and those who voted for us locally and nationally, have much to be proud of. The disappointing election results for us show that we must work harder to get our message across so people know what we have achieved. Only last week the Lib Dem Energy Secretary announced historic CO2 reduction targets to combat climate change that the Tories initially opposed.
