Global Award for Green Liberal Democrats
International Award in time for COP26
Chair of the Green Liberal Democrats, Keith Melton, has won a Global Award from the journal, CEO Monthly, which has been making such awards for the last ten years. The journal is circulated to 60,000 Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) worldwide every month and each year awards are made in a variety of categories, including awards for Chairpersons. The awards for 2021 are shown on the CEO Monthly Website here.
The award for Keith, as Chair of GLD, has been made as Sustainable Development Leader (UK) 2021 and was announced during the recent COP26 Conference in Glasgow. It was awarded in the name of the Green Liberal Democrats and Keith has pointed out that it is really a team award for our strong development over the last few years. "The timing, of course, has been very fortuitous for our involvement with COP26 and the fact that we had a strong team presence in Glasgow, not least with our Party leader, Sir Ed Davey who can be seen in the brief video clip below wearing his `Green Libby` in his jacket lapel!"
The final document produced by the COP negotiations could and should have been stronger - and we will be working hard to make imrpovements over the next 12 months - but the Glasgow experience brought many new networking opportunities for all of us who managed to make the trip.
