Car labelling a welcome step forward - Baker

10 Feb 2005

Norman Baker MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, responding to the launch of a new labelling scheme to show how environmentally friendly cars are, said:

"This is a welcome step in improving information to the public, but we need to go further to cut emissions.

"The Government should make it cheaper to drive cleaner vehicles through either adding extra bands to vehicle excise duty or in the long term through road user charging."
