2022 AGM - Julia Ewart Membership Report
Back in 2021 there was a little flurry of excitement in the GLD Admin team when Francis Thomas was appointed as the Political Assistant to the group, whilst Julia Ewart came along and offered her energy to the team.
In the short term Julia was seconded to the Membership team and she's worked along with Francis and the out going Membership Officer to 'tidy up' the membership list and to get the admin programme on track. Francis wrote a clear and punchy questionnaire to analyse the GLD offer and members were candid in their replies.
Whilst on the COP26 tour it became evident that if change is to be active and highly transformational in terms of habits then it is really important for the Green Liberal Democrats to be a guiding light. Not only (and importantly) in its stance with regards to the Climate Crisis but also in its attraction of being fresh and innovative. Again after some brainstorming the 'offer' to members is not only growing but in depth but its 'usefulness' is the most exciting aspect of change for Members.
Your digital membership cards - mailing after the AGM - will outline the full sweep of opportunties and resources available to our members goinng forth.
There's a big push to get all appointed Prospective Parliamentary Candidates, plus the hundreds of accredidted candidates waiting in the wings, to be members of the Green Liberal Democrats as soon as possible. The bespoke service that the GLD is prepared to offer in respect of research and knowledge, policy and templates willl be exceptional. And whilst an introductory fee is suggested, the GLD know that for Council and General Election Candidates alike there's going to be a really useful service that the GLD team feel will really support individuals like never before.
Julia has offered her services going into 2022 and hopes to be elected as Membership Development Officer. In her sights she has all our MPs and many Peers. Then she looks to book to attend every regional Conference with a positive stand that will be supported by a local alert to the reasons for being a member.
Of all groups the Green LibDems would like to see their membership soar after all as the most pressing issue on the planet - there's every reason to be involved. Julia looks to reanalyse the data with regards to growth but looks to double membership this coming year.
As a tease the Green LibDems are doing a pop up event in York at the coming hybrid event with ALDC in March. The approach is to be fresh and cutting edge, in the most sustainable way.
