Petition to Brent Council: End the Ongoing Roadwork Chaos in Wembley
We, the undersigned residents and visitors of Wembley, Alperton, and Sudbury, call on Brent Council to urgently address the persistent and poorly coordinated roadworks that have been going on in our area for far too long.
For months, and in some cases years, Wembley High Road, Ealing Road, Bridgewater Road, Harrow Road, Watford Road, and others, have been subject to never-ending works, partial closures, and diversions that create daily traffic gridlock, noise, and huge frustration. These disruptions have made simple journeys unbearable, damaged local businesses, and severely affected the quality of life for residents.
While we understand the need for infrastructure improvements, the lack of coordination and communication between contractors and the Council has led to chaos. Multiple major roads are closed or restricted at the same time, leaving drivers, buses, and pedestrians stuck in relentless congestion.
We therefore demand that Brent Council:
- Provide a clear timeline for the completion of all ongoing works.
- Implement stricter coordination between projects to prevent overlapping closures.
- Improve communication with residents and businesses regarding upcoming disruptions.
Our area deserves better. It is time to end the cycle of endless roadworks and ensure resident can go about their daily lives without constant disruption.
