Neil Matthews, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Folkestone and Hythe, has said he fails to understand why Conservatives on Shepway's Development Control Committee granted planning permission for 1050 homes on the Nickolls Quarry site.
There will be two informal sessions for members at the Lib Dem South East Conference in Worthing on 25th October in the Dining area of Northbrook College to meet the Lib Dem candidates for Party President. In answer to questions from Lib Dem Councillor Tim Prater, Shepway Council have confirmed that, although they have no deposits in Icelandic banks, the potential impact on pension funds currently remains unknown. Shepway's pension fund is administered by Kent County Council, who have said that around one third of the KCC deposits that have been lost relate to the pension fund - around £18 million.
