Our 19 Lib Dem councillors

Following the elections on May 4th, 2023, the Liberal Democrats emerged as the majority party on South Hams District Council, securing 19 of the 31 councillor seats. This victory gives the Liberal Democrats control of the council, meaning they now lead the decision-making processes and set the direction for the district’s governance. With a clear majority, the Liberal Democrats are in a strong position to implement their policies and priorities for the region. As you can see, the political landscape of the South Hams District Council continues to be diverse. The Conservatives hold seven seats, the Greens three, Labour one, and Independents one, ensuring a broad representation of views and interests.
