Surrey Docks

We are Jane Salmon and Adam Hood, your Liberal Democrat councillors for Surrey Docks, and we are standing again this May alongside Richard MacMillan, who we hope will join the team on Southwark Council.

A bit about us. Richard is a lawyer working for a digital health organisation and lives locally on Rotherhithe Street. Jane has served as a councillor in Southwark for over 20 years and, alongside Adam, has led the fight to fix Labour’s mess on Lower Road while working to keep our area clean and safe. Adam has lived in Surrey Docks for over 10 years, has represented the area since 2022, is a trustee at Rotherhithe Consolidated Charities, and has campaigned to protect Russia Dock Woodland and secure more youth services locally.

This election matters because Southwark is run by a Labour council. Too many residents tell us they feel ignored until they chase repeatedly, and problems that should be dealt with quickly are left to drag on. Surrey Docks needs councillors who will keep pressure on the council and stick with issues until they are properly fixed, like we do day in, day out.

When it comes to the choice, it is a clear one. The real contest here is between the Liberal Democrats and Labour. Even at the 2024 General Election, the Greens and Reform combined received fewer votes than the Liberal Democrats, showing clearly who can beat Labour and who cannot.

If you want strong local representation in Surrey Docks and Labour held to account at the Town Hall, please vote Liberal Democrat.

Cllr Adam Hood

Adam has lived here in Surrey Docks for six years. He is disappointed with the Labour council administration ignoring the community here in Surrey Docks when it comes to consulting residents on local developments including the Canada Water Masterplan.

Adam is concerned about housing, planning and parking in Surrey Docks and wants to see the council do a better job of listening and engaging with local residents.
