Lib Dems Slam "Out of Touch" Tory Budget and Demand a General Election

Responding to the budget presented by the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt today in the House of Commons, Lib Dem PPC for Bermondsey & Old Southwark, Cllr Rachel Bentley said:

"This budget is too little, too late. The out of touch chancellor failed to acknowledge the true crisis the country is facing and the shambolic mismanagement of our economy by a string of failed Tory governments.

The damage to our local services, economy, and schools has already been done.

The budget did nothing for people struggling to pay their mortgages, or left waiting for months in pain for NHS treatment.

It’s time to go to the polls and give the country a fresh start and a fair deal."
