Agnes Reilly Pitch
Agnes Reilly Pitch

Bring the Football Pitch in Agnes Riley Gardens back into use.

We the undersigned call on Lambeth Council to live up to its promise to give children and young people the best start in life, by bringing the football pitch in Agnes Riley Gardens back into use. Lambeth Council’s Vision Statement is to create a Borough in which “children and young people can have the best start in life” (“Lambeth 2030: Our future, our Lambeth”). Yet the football pitch in Agnes Riley Gardens has been closed for months. Over 450 children a week used the Astroturf pitch in Agnes Riley Gardens, and about 300 adults. Now they are all missing out. We demand that Lambeth Council put its money where its mouth is, and spend some of its new £89m capital programme on this highly-valued, well-used community resource.
