Long waits the SNP's new norm at A&E
Responding to new figures showing only 64.7% of people attending A&E were seen within the 4 hour target in the week ending 16th November 2025, while 3,454 people waited over 8 hours and 1,592 waited over 12 hours, Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:
"There was a time in Scotland when taking more than 4 hours to be seen at A&E was a rare occurrence, but under the SNP it's practically the new normal. Waits have sky rocketed thanks to their mismanagement of our NHS.
"We need to see the Scottish Government start taking serious action to support the staff facing these pressure cooker conditions. Scotland's A&E patients deserve better - and with the Scottish Liberal Democrats, you can vote for change with fairness at its heart."
