Responding to new figures showing that only 45.2% of patients who went to the A&E department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh were seen within the four-hour target time, and waits worsening across the country, Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP has called on the SNP/Green Government to “stop clutching onto a failing recovery plan”.

Alex Cole-Hamilton said

"People are being left in pain as less than half of patients attending A&E in the capital are seen within 4 hours.

“Time and time again, my party has called for an urgent inquiry into the hundreds of avoidable deaths linked to the emergency care crisis and for a staff burnout prevention strategy. Patients are paying the price for this SNP/Green Government’s inaction.

“Scottish Liberal Democrats are calling on the Government to ditch its stubbornness and stop clutching onto a failing recovery plan. If Humza Yousaf is not able to turn the tide, he will have to go.”
