Cole-Hamilton responds to buffer zone bill lodged at Parliament

Responding to the news that a bill designed to protect against protests outside abortion clinics has been lodged at the Scottish Parliament today, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader and health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:  

“Legislation is an essential step towards ensuring no woman is subjected to intimidation or harassment when seeking abortion treatment.  

“For years campaigners, including myself, have been calling for buffer zones around abortion clinics but the Scottish Government dragged its feet.

“The government must now commit to delivering buffer zones at pace.”
