Ross Stalker
Candidate for Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West
Ross Stalker first joined the Liberal Democrats in 2006 while studying Biological Sciences at Edinburgh University. He has lived in the West of Scotland since 2010, and went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Biotechnology at UWS in 2014. With his background as a biologist, he understands the urgency of the climate emergency and the need to bring forward the UK's net zero target.
Ross is a dedicated Lib Dem activist, having been employed for severalyears as a Campaign Organiser for the party, throughout four parliamentary elections, the EU referendum, the 2017 local elections, which has given him extensive experience in engaging with voters and winning political campaigns. He has also served for over a decade on the Scottish Liberal Democrat Conference Committee, which has given him experience in a broad range of policy areas.
He is particularly concerned with improving mental health services and is concerned about the UK Government's woeful response to medication shortages, having been diagnosed with adult ADHD in his late 20s. He is tired of the Conservative approach to the economy, particularly the way in which they have wrecked our trading relationship with Europe, and passionate about achieving a more socially just Scotland in a federal United Kingdom.
