Protect SEND children and young people

We are campaigning to defend SEND support for children and young people in County Durham.

The Reform Party now has control of the council, which has a statutory duty to provide support Special Educational Needs and Disabilities for children and young people. Their party leader has cast doubt on diagnosis of SEND by medical professionals, and the Reform Party councillors have not confirmed they will continue funding services beyond the statutory minimum required by law. We are campaigning to maintain funding by Durham County Council until such time as the Government fixes the system to deliver the SEND assistance that our children and young people deserve.

Please support our petition against any cuts to the level of SEND funding in County Durham.

Protect SEND children in County Durham

We, the undersigned, call on the Reform Party councillors running Durham County Council to protect funding for SEND children and reject their party leader's comments belittling diagnoses of autism, ADHD, and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND),
