Bishop Auckland - Durham Liberal Democrats

Helen Cross is our candidate for Bishop Auckland at the 2024 General Election. Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, she works in the robotics and technology sector promoting jobs in the new economy. She is vice-chair of the Liberal Democrat Women organisation.

The Liberal Democrats are challenging the Conservative Government and the Labour Police Commissioner by championing a Burglary Response Guarantee: You can sign our petition for our police officers to respond to every burglary, given that 45,323 burgarlies went without any response last year alone.

Helen is also campaigning on the Liberal Democrat plan for everyone to see their GP within a week, or in 24 hours for urgent needs, since families across our area are struggling to get NHS appointments.

Passionate about getting a fair deal for carers by valuing the work they do, Helen is standing up for carers by inviting people to sign the Lib Dem petition to increase the Carer's Allowance for unpaid carers.
