Stuart Bourne

A liberal, democratic voice for Gillingham and Rainham

Stuart was born in Medway, lived in Gillingham and then moved to Rainham in 2019. He is a professional gardener, but put his career on hold to look after his children full-time. He currently works part-time for a Maidstone-based charity, coordinating volunteers to improve the green spaces in the town centre.

Whilst looking after his two children, he donates his time to help his community. He helps green space groups in Rainham and Gillingham, assists local schools in teaching pupils about plants, and volunteers at his church's family coffee morning.

He is a governor at Riverside Primary. He is passionate about protecting the environment and the local community. He has planted trees and a willow den in Rainham Rec, and was successful in getting CCTV installed at a known trouble spot.

I'm standing to ensure that our next generation gets the same opportunities that I and others have enjoyed, including the chance to breathe the same clean air, buy a home, or have a rewarding and interesting job. The current Tory government has failed to do this on all counts, and change is needed now.
