Medway Liberal Democrats Welcome Josh Babarinde as Party President
 

The Medway Liberal Democrats join Ed Davey in warmly welcoming Josh Babarinde as the newly appointed President of the Liberal Democrats. We are delighted to see the party led by someone whose priorities resonate deeply with our own, particularly his commitment to broadening the party’s reach, engaging young voters ahead of votes at 16, and preparing our campaign for the next round of elections.

Josh’s longstanding dedication to youth empowerment is both admirable and inspiring. In Parliament, he pledged to tackle youth homelessness - a pressing issue here in Medway. We share his concerns and continue our work in addressing the challenges faced by young people living in Medway.

We must confront the growing concerns around Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) owned by unscrupulous landlords. Our local housing stock must be made more affordable, secure, and inclusive, especially through the provision of emergency accommodation for vulnerable youth.

We look forward to working alongside Josh and the wider party to build a fairer, more compassionate future for all.
