Ealing Lib Dems success in driving forward improvements to subways in Hanger Hill & other practical actions

Redecoration of subways, improved CCTV and other local upgrades being explored. 

Liberal Democrat Councillor Athena Zissimos (Hanger Hill) has been actively raising concerns about her local area and the disheveled state of the subway which runs under the A40 in her Hanger Hill constituency, along with Councillor Jonathan Oxley. 

She has been in discussions with the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (ODPC) to press prioritising the redecoration of the subway, upgrading the CCTV in Mason's Green Lane and to address additional improvements in the area. 

Her hard work is paying off as redecoration of the subway is being planned, s106 funds are being allocated for CCTV work for 2026 and upgrades to focus on improved lighting, street furniture, paving and planting are being explored. 

Councillor Athena Zissimos - Environment, Streets, Parks and Climate Change Spokesperson said: “The Ealing Liberal Democrats are pleased that engaging with these various parties in a coordinated way is starting to bear fruit for the local residents in Hanger Hill, Park Royal and around. It is disappointing to see that Ealing Labour have not been proactive in a way that would bring benefits to the area.”
