Labour having “a chilling effect on democracy”

Liberal Democrat councillors led the way this week in opposing Labour plans to ban placards and banners from the Council chamber and prevent prospective candidates from speaking at council meetings.
Cllr Tom Simon, the Leader of the Opposition Lib Dem Group on Camden Council, expressed deep concern that these amendments would “undermine participation in local democracy”.
