We'd love to see you at The Royal Oak, Bishop's Cleeve, GL52 8LR on Sunday 1st June between 7-9.30pm.

There's plenty of parking nearby, and if the weather's good, we'll be out in the garden. If not, we've got a cosy spot inside at the quieter rear area.

Feel free to bring along any friends or family who share our values - the more, the merrier!

These are exciting times and as the newly appointed Membership Development Officer I’m looking forward to meeting you all I'll be working closely with Babs Farmer (who I’m sure many of you will know), to make sure we keep building this positive momentum.

Pizza and Politics - The Big Debate!

  • 03 Jun 2025
  • 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm
  • 121 Borough High Street
    London
    SE1 1NP

The Southwark Lib Dems invite you to "Pizza and Politics - The Big Debate" on Tuesday 3rd June from 6-8pm at St Christopher's Inn, Borough High Street. Nearest tube/trains is London Bridge, zillions of bus routes go by there as well. The tables are booked from 5.45pm onwards. The big topic:

"The two party system is dead - are the Lib Dems doing enough to be the default option?"

Join us for an evening of debate, come along with your views or even prepared speeches (max 2 mins). Why not debate the opposing side to your opinion or hear what everyone else has to say before you pile in. Perhaps you just want to hear the debate and have a bite to eat with friends old and new. Whatever your views, this promises to be lively, tasty and a great opportunity for members new and old to share your views or just have a natter... You never know, some of your ideas may end up forming the spine of the 2026 campaign!

It's free to attend, a particularly good opportunity for members who are new to the party or haven't been in touch for a while to reconnect. All we ask is that you order some food and/or drink for yourself to cover the base costs of the venue.

The Trans Experience in 2025

Join us for a timely and vital panel event looking at the growing challenges faced by trans people in the UK today.

Following many years of challenges to trans inclusion in our society, this discussion will explore key issues impacting the trans community in 2025 — including discrimination, inadequate access to gender-affirming healthcare, legal recognition, and the increasingly hostile discourse around trans inclusion in public life, including sports.

Our panel of trans individuals — including activists, researchers, and subject-matter experts — will share their lived experiences and insights into the current political and social landscape, and outline what needs to change for them. Central to the conversation will be how allies, communities, and political movements can effectively resist these rollbacks and support trans people with action as well as words.

A generous segment of the event will be devoted to open questions from the audience. This will be a space for honest conversation — whether you're seeking clarity, wanting to share your concerns, or looking to get more involved.

This event is open to all Liberal Democrat members and supporters. Whether you’re a long-time ally, newly engaged, or simply trying to understand the issues better: you are welcome.

We want to ensure a safe environment for our speakers and all attendees. Please do not share this advert outside of Liberal Democrat groups without speaking to Martyn first. Attendees are asked to come with an open mind and to engage with the discussion with respect for the lived experience of the panelists and opinions and beliefs of everyone present.

The event is completely free of charge, but voluntary contributions towards the cost of the room and refreshments are warmly welcomed (including cash or card payments on the night).

For further details, contact Martyn Cooper (Diversity Champion, Southampton Liberal Democrats): diversity@southampton-libdems.org.uk / 07531 975204.

exclusively for Liberal Democrat members and campaigners in the Hazel Grove Constituency.

This virtual session will be led jointly by the Hazel Grove

Campaigns Team and Senior Campaign Managers from the HQ Campaigns and Elections

team. Together, we will provide an overview of our campaign activity at the UK,

regional and constituency level — including insights into how we are performing

locally, what we’re learning from conversations on the doorstep, and how we

compare to the other parties in the area.

This is a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding

of the wider campaign strategy, ask questions, and hear directly from those

leading the national and local effort.

Please note: this is a confidential briefing and open

only to Hazel Grove Liberal Democrat members and active campaigners.

The Zoom joining link will be circulated via email ahead of the meeting. We look forward to seeing you virtually.
