Woolwich Dockyard
Our candidates for Woolwich Dockyard
Matti Pekkola
I am originally from Finland and I started working in London 15 years ago. I work as a regulatory consultant in financial services. Today, I am proud to be a Londoner as it is a truly multicultural and liberal city with a rich history. I recently rejoined the Liberal Democrats to oppose populist politicians who could threaten our free, fair and open society.
At the local community level, I would support initiatives to improve equality, air quality, street cleanliness and safety. I am a very strong supporter of giving local communities better access to sports facilities and education.

In an area changing so rapidly, there is a danger that not all voices will be heard and that local people's needs will be forgotten, so I'm standing to represent Woolwich Dockyard.
As a lifelong Charlton Athletic fan, I have seen the benefits that sport and community can bring to everyone that gets involved. That's why improving youth club provision and cycling infrastructure is important to me.
I'm passionate about the good that business and entrepreneurs can do for society. My 17+ year career has been spent helping innovative technology and sustainability businesses to deliver impact. Now I want to do the same for the people of Woolwich Dockyard so we can continue to make it a great place to live and work for everyone.
Woolwich Dockyard's history as a naval powerhouse is inspiring. If we work together, its future can be just as exciting.
