Sandgate Seafront Bin Collection: Back to the Past
I know this is part of a regular series of emails from me, but there are a lot of things not well in the world of bin emptying and rubbish collection in Sandgate at the moment I'm afraid.

There is a virtual event to launch the White Cliffs Community Rail Partnership next Thursday, 20th May, at 2pm. The partnership covers the nine stations between Westenhanger and Sandwich (including Folkestone West and Folkestone Central), and you can hear their exciting future plans and ideas.
The results are in. By 21 votes out of almost 5,200 cast, I missed taking the "Cheriton, Sandgate and Hythe East" Kent County Council division from the Conservatives.
It's a real bright spot of each week supporting the Sandgate Community Garden team by taking Leonie's weekly updates and photos and tunring them into the online diary posts at https://sandgatepc.org.uk/sandgate-community-garden/
The County Council elections are not JUST about getting a Councillor who works hard through the year, keeps in touch, and gets things done (although I hope, and think, I am that Councillor).
Letter distributed in Sandgate yesterday with revised details of the arrangements for filming of "Pistol" in Sandgate on 1st May. Thought it might be easier for some to read like this than a photo of a letter!
Local authorities have been administering the Local Restrictions Support Grants (LRSG) and the Additional Restrictions Grants (ARG) schemes on behalf of government since last November. Through the LRSG scheme mandatory grants have been awarded to eligible businesses in the district which are in the business rates system, while other businesses impacted by the pandemic have been catered for through the Folkestone & Hythe ARG discretionary scheme.
The Liberal Democrats will be fielding candidates in three divisions of Folkestone East, Folkestone West and Cheriton, Sandgate and Hythe East. The Green Party will be fielding candidates in Hythe West, Romney Marsh and Elham Valley divisions.
A number of Hythe residents asked me to review and comment on planning application 21/0553/FH (Land Opposite 24, Station Road, Hythe). I have done so today, and my comments were as follows:
The Liberal Democrats are taking a stand to hold tech companies accountable, equip the police with the right powers, and build a digital world where women and girls can live safely and without fear.
Supporting people to age well and maintain their independence is better for them and common-sense for the NHS. The Liberal Democrats are taking a stand to fix social care, protect our NHS, and ensure everyone can age well in their own home and community.
Liberal Democrat members have renewed our commitment to fix the front door of the NHS, restore patient choice, end dental deserts, and ensure preventative care is accessible before health problems turn into emergencies.
Ed Davey is a husband, a father and a carer. He is the Leader of the Liberal Democrats.
It is Ed’s experience of caring that drives much of his politics, and motivates his tireless campaigning for a fair deal.
Meet our representatives and candidates.
