Sandgate Councillor Tim Prater has asked Shepway District Council to look into the use of Seagull proof bags for rubbish collections in areas using bin bags. Areas with bin bag rather than wheelie bin collection are often strewn with rubbish on waste collection days as the seagulls attack bags before they are collected.
Sandgate Parish Council will be considering the planning application submitted to SDC by Taylor Wimpey for the Shorncliffe Garrison site at its Planning Committee meeting on Tuesday 17th June at 7pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend any Sandgate Parish Council Planning Committee meeting.
The Gurkha Peace Foundation is organising a charity Gurkha Walk this Sunday 15th June 2014. The distance will be 13 miles in memory of 13 Gurkha VCs.
Police Contact Points are held each day from Monday to Friday on a rolling two-week schedule. The police vans stop at mainly rural locations for an hour each visit, enabling residents to drop by and speak to a PCSO about any policing concerns or local issues.

During construction works on site, BIG problems have been discovered with drains that the project was planning to use, with water from those drains not passing down the drains as expected by instead leaking out of the cliff face below the Leas.
